이상일 용인특례시장, 교통지도봉사·현장 점검

【브레이크뉴스 경기남부 = 용인 이현준 기자】 이상일 용인특례시장은 초등학교 인근에서 등굣길 교통지도 봉사활동에 참여했다.

 3일 수지구 동천동 한빛학교 봉사활동에는 이상일 시장을 비롯해 정혜정 풍덕초등학교장, 녹색어머니회, 학부모회, 자원봉사자 등 10여 명이 함께했다.

학부모들의 요청에 따라 진행된 이날 교통 봉사에서 이 시장은 교통지도에 앞서 학교 도서관 조성 현장을 방문해 교육환경 개선사업 추진 현황을 확인하고, 학교 관계자들과 함께 통학로와 학교 시설 전반을 점검했다.

이상일 시장은 “아이들의 안전을 최우선으로 생각해야 한다”며 “보수가 필요한 도로나 횡단보도 도색 등 시가 즉시 조치할 수 있는 사항은 신속히 처리하고, 경찰서 등 관계기관과 협의가 필요한 사안은 적극적으로 협의해 개선해달라”고 담당 부서에 지시했다.

이 시장은 교통지도 봉사를 마친 뒤 학부모들의 요청으로 교육 현장에 대한 의견을 청취했으며, 학부모와 학교 관계자들은 학생들의 안전과 교육에 관심을 기울이는 이 시장에게 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
