광명시, 전국 지방정부 최초 ‘탄소거래플랫폼’ 구축 착수

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시가 전국 지방정부 중 처음으로 온실가스 감축 성과를 수익으로 환원하는 탄소거래플랫폼 구축에 나선다.

시는 지난 5일 탄소컨설팅 및 탄소거래플랫폼 구축 사업 착수보고회를 열고 시민과 기업 및 공공기관의 탄소 감축 활동이 탄소크레딧으로 발행되어 경제적 이익으로 이어질 수 있는 활성화 방안을 논의했다.

이번 사업은 전문적인 인증 절차를 돕는 탄소크레딧 발행 지원 컨설팅과 이를 투명하게 거래할 수 있는 플랫폼 구축이라는 두 가지 축으로 진행된다. 시는 복잡한 감축량 산정과 검증 준비 과정을 직접 지원하여 지역 내 탄소 감축 활동이 자발적 탄소 시장에서 수익화될 수 있도록 돕고 감축 성과가 다시 탄소중립 투자로 이어지는 선순환 구조를 만들 계획이다.
