광명시, RCE 어워드 최우수상 수상

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시는 시민 참여 기반 사회적경제 교육 모델의 우수성을 국제적으로 인정받아 국제 지속가능발전 교육 네트워크인 RCE(Regional Center of Expertise)가 주관하는 '2025 RCE 어워드(Award)'에서 '최우수상(OUTSTANDING FLAGSHIP PROJECT)'을 수상했다고 23일 밝혔다.

RCE 어워드는 매년 UN대학이 전 세계 200개 RCE 도시 중 아이디어, 운영의 질, 벤치마킹 가능성 등을 평가해 우수한 지속가능발전교육 프로젝트를 수행한 도시를 선정하는 국제상이다. 시는 올해 '사회적경제로 지역순환' 프로젝트로 최우수상을 받으며 2023년 '광명자치대학' 우수상, 2024년 '탄소중립 교육과 시민실천' 최우수상에 이어 3년 연속 수상의 쾌거를 이루었다.

광명시가 지속가능한 순환도시 실현을 위해 시민의 인식과 참여 확대, 사회적경제 주체의 성장과 협력을 핵심 과제로 삼고 다양한 사회적경제 교육과 시민 참여형 사업을 추진한 점이 높은 평가를 받았다.
