광명시 ‘워크온’, 10만 시민과 함께 237억 달성

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시가 운영 중인 모바일 걷기 플랫폼 ‘워크온(WalkON)’이 시민 참여 10만 명을 돌파하며 대표적인 건강생활 플랫폼으로 자리 잡았다.

14일 시에 따르면 10월 초 현재 ‘워크온’ 누적 가입자는 1만 1천 명, 누적 참여자 수는 10만 3천913명에 달했다.

2020년 5월 서비스 개시 이후 약 5년간 운영한 결과로, 총 누적 걸음 수는 237억 보를 넘어섰다.

‘워크온’은 스마트폰을 활용한 모바일 걷기 플랫폼으로, 광명시민과 관내 직장인을 대상으로 다양한 걷기 미션과 챌린지를 운영하며 목표 달성 시 모바일 상품권 등 인센티브를 제공한다.

시는 지금까지 계절·환경·건강 등 주제를 반영한 걷기 챌린지 60회를 운영해 시민 스스로 건강을 관리하고, 지역사회 건강 문화를 확산하도록 유도하고 있다.

특히 챌린지 성공자에게 제공되는 인센티브 제도는 시민들의 꾸준한 참여를 이끌어 건강관리뿐 아니라 지역경제 활성화에도 긍정적인 효과를 내고 있다.
