광명시, 2026년 생활임금 결정 앞두고 전문가 의견 수렴

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시가 2026년도 생활임금 결정을 앞두고 전문가 토론회를 개최했다.

시는 14일 철산동 이동노동자 쉼터에서 노동전문가와 근로자 60여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 광명시 생활임금의 적정 수준과 노동정책 방향’을 주제로 토론회를 열었다.

이번 토론회는 오는 17일 열릴 ‘광명시 생활임금심의위원회’에 앞서 생활임금 수준 산정과 향후 정책 추진 방향을 논의하기 위해 마련했다.

토론회에서는 박용철 한국노동사회연구소 선임연구위원 등 4명의 전문가가 참여해 생활임금의 필요성과 국정과제와 연계한 노동정책 등을 중심으로 심도 있는 논의를 이어갔다.

박용철 한국노동사회연구소 선임연구위원은 “최저임금은 생존을 위한 최소 기준이지만, 생활임금은 인간다운 삶을 위한 제도”라며 “지방정부의 역할이 중요하다”고 강조했다.

광명시는 2016년 처음 생활임금을 도입해 올해로 10년째를 맞았다. 당시 시급 6천800원으로 시작한 생활임금은 2019년 1만 원에 도달했으며, 올해는 1만 1천450원을 적용하고 있다.
