여주시, 폭염 대비 건설현장 및 계절근로자 작업장 안전 점검 실시

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=여주 이현준기자] 여주시는 장기화되는 폭염에 대비해 건설현장 및 계절근로자 작업장을 대상으로 현장 안전 점검을 실시했다고 지난 30일 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 폭염에 취약한 야외 근로자들의 작업 환경을 살피고, 폭염으로 인한 피해를 사전에 예방하기 위한 조치로 마련됐다.

조정아 부시장은 지난 7월 30일 오전 9시, 여주시 현암동 일원의 오학 문화복지센터 건설현장을 방문해 근무 여건을 점검하고, 근로자들의 애로사항을 청취했다. 이어, 인근 지역에 위치한 가지 농장도 방문하여 라오스 국적 계절근로자 7명의 작업 현황을 살폈다.

조 부시장은 현장 점검을 통해 “폭염이 계속되는 만큼, 야외 근로자의 건강과 안전을 보호하기 위해 작업장에 대한 세심한 관리가 필요하다”라며 “관련 부서에서는 휴식 공간 제공, 음용수 비치, 작업시간 조정 등 폭염 대응 수칙이 철저히 이행될 수 있도록 지속적인 점검을 실시해달라”라고 당부했다.

여주시는 앞으로도 폭염특보 발령 시 야외 작업장을 중심으로 현장 점검을 강화하고, 근로자 보호를 위한 실효성 있는 조치를 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.
