시흥시, 민간환경감시원 24시간 확대 운영

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시는 시흥스마트허브 및 인근 주거지역의 악취 민원 해소를 위해 감시체계를 대폭 강화하고, 지난 7월 1일부터 24시간 악취 감시활동을 본격 운영 중이다.

시는 심야나 새벽 시간대에 발생하는 악취로 인한 시민 불편을 해소하고자 민간환경감시원 3인, 공무원 1인으로 악취 전문 인력을 편성해 24시간 악취 감시체계를 구축했다.

이번에 강화된 감시활동은 시 환경기초시설은 물론, 주요 악취배출 업소와 민원 다발 사업장, 법적 허용 기준을 초과한 사업장까지 대상으로 포함해 관리의 실효성을 높이고 있다.

특히 악취 민원이 집중되는 7~8월에는 야간뿐만 아니라 주말(토요일)까지 활동해, 주기적인 악취 배출 업소 감시를 진행하고, 주거지역에 영향을 미치는 악취 배출 업소를 추적할 방침이다. 이를 통해 24시간 신속하고 효율적인 현장 대응이 가능하도록 총력을 기울일 예정이다.
