[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시민인권센터는 3월 한 달 동안 매주 목요일마다 ‘2025 광명시민인권학교’를 운영한다.

이번 교육은 시민들이 서로를 이해하고 존중하는 사회를 만들기 위해 인권 문제를 실천으로 연결하는 방법을 모색하고자 마련됐다.

교육은 오는 13일 ‘젠더와 인권’, 20일 ‘돌봄과 인권’, 27일 ‘기후위기와 인권’ 등 다양한 인권 문제를 주제로 이뤄진다.

‘젠더와 인권’ 강의에서는 성별에 따른 차별과 혐오 문제를 짚어보고, 성평등 사회를 만들기 위한 실천 방안을 논의한다.

‘돌봄과 인권’을 주제로 하는 강의에서는 코로나19 이후 더욱 주목받고 있는 돌봄을 인권의 관점에서 재해석해 인권 중심 돌봄사회를 만들기 위한 방향을 논의해 본다.

‘기후위기와 인권’ 강의에서는 기후위기를 인권의 눈으로 봐야만 하는 이유와 기후시민으로 실천할 수 있는 방안을 모색한다.

모든 강의는 평생학습원 403호에서 진행되며, 광명시민 누구나 사전 신청 없이 참여할 수 있다.

이성덕 센터장은 “이번 교육으로 인권에 대한 이해를 넘어 생활 속에서 실천하고 지역사회에서 연대하는 계기가 되길 희망한다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 지난 6일 열린 ‘혐오보다는 인권’ 강의에는 30여 명이 참석해 ‘극혐’이라는 단어를 서슴없이 사용하는 시대에 대해 고민해 보고, 혐오의 문제점과 혐오를 줄이기 위한 노력에 대해 토론하는 시간을 가졌다.

이날 참석한 한 볍씨학교 학생은 “평소 무심코 사용하던 말이 누군가에게 상처가 될 수 있다는 걸 깨달았다”며 “혐오 표현이 아니라 서로를 존중하는 말을 쓰기 위해 더 고민해야겠다고 느꼈다”고 소감을 전했다.
