정승연 신임회장은 수원시장학재단 이사, 수원시문화원 이사, 수원시여성자문위원회 위원 등으로 활동하고 있으며 1995년 출범한 수원시여성경영인협의회는 ‘여성 경영인의 지위 향상’, ‘지역경제 활성화’ 등을 목표로 지역사회에서 교육·연구 사업 등 활동을 전개하고 있다.

정승연 회장은 취임사에서 “역대 회장님들께서 열정으로 봉사해 주신 덕분에 오늘날 수원시여성경영인협의회가 있을 수 있었다”며 “자부심을 품고 일하며 더 발전하는 협의회를 만들어 가겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

이·취임식에 함께한 이재준 수원시장은 “빛나는 리더십으로 협의회를 이끌어주신 김정회 회장님께 감사드리고, 취임하시는 정승연 회장님께 축하의 마음을 전한다”며 “경제위기를 극복할 수 있도록 여성경영인 여러분이 힘과 지혜를 모아달라”고 당부했다.
