이 프로그램은 스마트폰 활용, 키오스크를 이용한 음식 주문, 은행 계좌 이체 등 일상생활에 필요한 디지털 기기 사용법을 교육해 시민들의 정보 격차를 해소하고 더 편리한 생활을 지원하기 위해 마련됐다.

수업은 강의 형식이 아닌 참여자의 수준에 맞춘 일대일 코칭으로 진행된다. 광명시민이라면 별도의 사전 신청 없이 매주 월·수·토 오후 1시부터 3시까지 광명시 평생학습원 301호를 방문해 자유롭게 수강할 수 있다.

정찬수 평생학습원장은 “새로운 디지털 기기 확산에 따라 불편을 겪는 시민도 생겨나고 있다”며 “시민들이 일상생활에서 디지털 기술을 자유롭게 활용할 수 있도록 질 높은 디지털 교육 시행하겠다”고 강조했다.
