시는 지난 4일 어울마당에서 교육부 주관 ‘2025년 학교복합시설 공모사업 설명회’가 열려 수도권 내 교육지원청, 지자체 학교복합시설 담당자 100여 명이 참석해 사업 설명을 듣고 시설 내 공간 답사를 진행했다고 밝혔다.

어울마당은 광명시, 광명교육지원청, 광명동초등학교 협력사업으로 광명동초등학교 운동장 부지 내 지상 1층, 지하 2층, 연면적 5천948㎡ 규모로 건립됐으며 지난해 8월 개관했다.

학교복합시설은 학교시설 내 설치되는 시설로, 학생과 지역주민이 함께 이용할 수 있는 공공·문화 체육시설, 평생교육시설 등을 말한다. 학생들에게는 쾌적한 교육 환경을 제공하고 지역주민에게는 부족한 교육·문화 시설 제공한다.
