▲ 경기도 교육청이 다문화학생의 공교육을 위한 경기한국어랭기지스쿨을 전국최초로 도입해 31개 도내 지역으로 확대 운영한다고 밝혔다.

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 오경희기자] 경기도교육청이 ‘경기한국어랭기지스쿨(KLS,경기한국어공유학교)’을 도내 31개 지역으로 전면 확대한다.

30일 도교육청은 급증하는 다문화학생의 공교육 진입과 학교 적응을 위해 학교 안과 밖, 지역에서 한국어교육을 집중적으로 실시하는 ‘경기한국어랭기지스쿨’을 운영하여 경기도 어디서나 다문화학생의 공교육 진입 전 한국어 집중교육이 가능하게됐다고 밝혔다.

2023년 안산, 동두천, 남양주 3개 지역에서 시범 운영을 시작으로, 2024년 14개 기관으로 확대했으며 올해는 경기도 31개 지역 40개 기관에서 운영된다. 단기, 장기, 학교 밖 다문화학생을 대상으로 집중 지원한다.

‘경기한국어랭기지스쿨’은 학교 진입 전 한국어 집중교육을 실시하는 시스템으로 전국 최초로 도입됐다. 이후 그 효과성을 인정받아 교육부-한국어 예비과정 사업으로 전국적으로 확장되어 도교육청이 운영 방안을 전국에 안내하고 있다.

도교육청은 학교 안과 밖, 지역이 협력해 다문화학생 한국어교육을 촘촘히 지원하고 있다.

우선 학교 안에서는 ▲학교급 전환기 교육 징검다리 과정 ▲다문화특별학급 ▲다문화언어강사를, 지역에서는 ▲경기한국어랭기지스쿨(경기한국어공유학교)을 1개 기관 필수 운영하고 다문화학생 밀집지역은 추가 운영한다.

이와 함께 온라인 한국어교육 시스템을 구축해 학교 밖 학생, 원거리 학생 대상 프로그램도 운영하고 있다.

도교육청 현계명 융합교육정책과장은 “‘경기한국어랭기지스쿨’은 다문화학생의 한국어 집중교육을 위해 경기도교육청이 선도적으로 만든 정책”이라며 “다문화학생의 한국어 능력을 키워 공교육 진입과 학교 적응을 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
