안성시, 미국 브레아시 청소년 초청 프로그램 추진

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=안성 이귀선기자] 안성시는 지난 3월 30일부터 4월 4일까지 안성시와 자매결연도시인 미국 브레아시의 청소년을 초청했다.
안성시에서는 미국 브레아시와의 자매결연 협정을 맺은 2011년 이래, 2020년부터 2021년까지 코로나-19로 인한 비대면 교류를 제외하고는 매년 미국 브레아시로의 홈스테이 프로그램을 진행하고 있으며, 이번 안성시로의 초청 프로그램은 2014년에 처음으로 시행된 이후 두 번째로 추진되는 것이다.
이번 사업은 안성시의 우수 문화를 알리고, 관내 청소년들과의 만남을 통해 상호 간 교류를 활성화시키는 데에 목표를 두고 계획하게 되었으며, 호스트 가정과의 하루 및 관내 고등학교 학습 체험, 대학교 견학, 시티투어, 한국의 전통 문화 체험, K-POP체험 활동 등으로 진행된다.
김보라 시장은 "이번 초청 프로그램을 통하여 안성시의 우수 문화를 널리 알리고 우리 안성 청소년들의 글로벌 마인드 확립에 도움이 될 것이며 더 나아가 안성시와 브레아시 간 사회·문화·경제 분야의 교류 확대라는 긍정적인 효과도 기대해본다."라고 말했다.
