경기주택도시공사, 아동그룹홈 주거환경 개선 공로로 감사패 받아

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 이현준기자] 경기주택도시공사(GH)는 17일, 한국아동청소년그룹홈협의회로부터 아동그룹홈 주거환경 개선에 기여한 공로로 감사패를 받았다.

아동그룹홈은 가정 해체, 학대, 방임 등으로 보호가 필요한 아동·청소년이 소규모 가정 형태로 생활하는 시설이다. 경기도 내 그룹홈 상당수가 25년 이상 된 노후 주택에서 운영되고 있어 안전 문제와 주거환경 저하에 대한 우려가 꾸준히 제기돼 왔으나, 정부 운영비만으로는 시설 개선이 어려운 실정이었다.

이에 GH는 우리은행, 아동그룹홈협의회와 함께 지난 7월 ‘G.우.주 프로젝트’ 협약을 체결하고, 4년간 총 6억 원의 예산을 투입해 도내 노후 그룹홈 73개소의 주거환경을 단계적으로 개선하기로 했다. 올해는 1차로 18가구를 선정해 개선 사업을 완료했다.
