시흥시 거북섬, 따뜻하고 환상적인 겨울섬으로 변신

시는 거북섬 스케이트장을 오는 20일 개장하고, 올 한 해를 음악으로 마무리하는 문화공연 ‘2025 시흥 사운드 오브 윈터’도 함께 개최한다.

거북섬 웨이브파크 앞 광장에는 12월 20일부터 내년 2월 8일까지 겨울철 야외 스케이트장이 운영된다. 스케이트장은 아이스링크장 1,500㎡(50m×30m), 얼음썰매장 400㎡(20m×20m), 눈썰매장 360㎡(50m×7.2m) 규모로 조성돼 어린이부터 가족 단위 방문객까지 폭넓게 즐길 수 있도록 구성됐다.

시는 이번 스케이트장 운영을 통해 여름철 해양레저 중심지로 자리 잡은 거북섬을 겨울에도 찾을 수 있는 사계절 관광지로 육성한다는 계획이다. 특히 겨울 스포츠와 문화공연을 연계해 시민과 관광객에게 색다른 연말·연초 여가 문화를 제공할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
