여주시, 6.25전쟁 무공훈장 전수식 거행

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=여주 이현준기자] 여주시는 지난 6일 6.25전쟁 당시 무공을 세운 故윤광옥 상병에게 추서된 화랑무공훈장을 유가족에게 전달하는 전수식을 거행했다.

故윤광옥 상병은 1951년 1월 입대하여, 수도사단 1연대 소속으로 강원도 고성지구 전투 중 1951년 3월 전사했다. 6.25전쟁 당시 용맹한 전투활동으로 무공훈장 수여가 결정되었으나 실제 훈장을 받지 못했다. 이에, 국방부는 여주시와 협업하여 ‘6.25전쟁 무공훈장 주인공 찾기 캠페인’을 통해 고인의 수훈 사실을 재확인하고, 오랜 세월 훈장을 받지 못한 유가족을 찾아 이번 전수식을 마련했다.
