용인특례시, 택시 승차대 100곳 금연 구역 지정

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시는 6일부터 지역 내 택시 승차대 100개소를 금연 구역으로 지정한다고 밝혔다. 

이번 택시 승차대 금연구역 확대는 ‘용인시 금연환경 조성 및 간접흡연 피해 방지 조례’ 개정에 따라 시행된다.

금연 구역 지정 대상은 ‘택시 승차대 시설물’과 ‘택시 승차대 안내표지판 경계로부터 반경 10m 이내 구역’이다.

시는 8월 6일부터 3개월간 계도기간을 운영하며, 이 기간 금연 안내와 홍보로 시민 인식 개선에 집중한다. 

11월 7일부터는 관련 법령에 따라 금연 구역에서 흡연하면 과태료 5만 원을 부과한다. 단속도 강화할 예정이다.

보건소 관계자는 “택시 승차대는 다양한 연령대의 시민이 머무르는 공간이며, 노약자와 어린이가 간접흡연에 노출되기 쉬운 장소”라며 “금연 구역 지정이 시민 건강 보호에 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있도록 적극 홍보하고 안내하겠다”고 말했다.
