용인특례시 수지구, 손곡천·동막천 보행안전 정비사업 완료

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시 수지구는 손곡천과 동막천 일원(그린교~머내1교 구간)에서 보행 안전 정비사업을 완료했다고 18일 밝혔다.

구는 노후된 보행로와 하천 주변의 퇴적토로 인해 하천 범람 위험이 제기됨에 따라 시민들의 편의를 개선하고 안전을 확보하기 위해 정비사업을 추진했다.

구는 총 1억 3000만원의 예산을 투입해 손곡천에서 동막천까지 약 770m 구간의 보행로와 자전거도로를 재포장하고, 그린교 부근 준설과 징검다리를 이설했다.

이상일 시장은 “집중호우로 하천이 범람하는 것을 예방하기 위해 선제적으로 손곡천과 동막천 일대 정비사업을 완료했다”며 “기후위기로 기상이변이 언제든 발생할 수 있다는 판단에 따라 시민 안전을 위한  대책을 미리 미리 강구하겠다”고 말했다.
