[브레이크뉴스경기남부=김포 이현준기자] 김포시 전국다문화도시협의회가 지난 17일 우리다문화장학재단과 다문화 학생에 대한 실질적 지원과 협력 강화를 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

이번 협약을 통해 양 기관은 회원도시의 다문화가정 학생들에게 보다 폭넓은 장학 혜택을 제공하고, 교육과 문화, 복지 등 다양한 분야에서 공동 사업을 추진해 나가기로 했다. 특히 다문화에 대한 포용성과 긍정적 인식 확산을 위한 캠페인 및 프로그램 개발에도 힘을 모으기로 하면서, 긴밀한 협력 체계를 구축하겠다는 의지를 나타냈다.

김병수 협의회장은 “다문화가정 자녀들이 사회의 소중한 구성원으로서 꿈을 키워나갈 수 있도록 지원하는 것은 우리 모두의 책임이다. 이번 협약을 계기로 전국다문화도시협의회와 우리다문화장학재단이 함께 실효성 있는 정책과 사업을 추진해 나가기를 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 우리다문화장학재단은 2012년 우리은행 등 우리금융그룹이 공동 출연해 설립한 국내 최초의 다문화가족 지원 전문 공익재단으로, 지금까지 6,700여 명의 학생에게 약 80억 원 규모의 장학금을 지원했다. 또한 다문화가정을 위한 교육, 문화, 복지 프로그램도 활발히 운영하며, 다문화가족의 안정적 정착과 사회통합을 위한 다양한 노력을 이어오고 있다.
