청소년 생활장학금은 기획재정부 복권 기금을 기반으로 운영되는 장학금으로, 경제적으로 어려운 저소득층 가정의 청소년들이 안정적으로 학업을 유지할 수 있도록 지원한다.

올해 ‘경기도 청소년 생활장학금’을 통해 관내 저소득층 청소년(기초생활보장수급자ㆍ법정 차상위ㆍ한부모 가정, 생활이 어려운 학교 밖 청소년 등) 443명을 대상으로 총 5억 5천8백여만 원을 지원할 예정이다.

특히 올해는 현실적인 지원 단가를 반영해 중학생(2010~2012년생 학교 밖 청소년 포함)에게 1인당 연 100만 원을, 고등학생(2007~2009년생 및 해당 연령대 학교 밖 청소년 포함)에게는 1인당 연 150만 원을 상하반기 두 차례로 나눠 지급한다. 장학금 지급 일정은 상반기는 4월, 하반기는 9월에 이뤄진다.
