[브레이크뉴스경기남부=수원 이현준기자] 경기도가 행정안전부가 공표한 ‘지역안전지수’에서 10년 연속 도 단위 최다분야 1등급 지역에 선정됐다.

31일 행정안전부에 따르면 경기도는 전체 6개 평가지표 가운데 교통사고, 화재, 생활안전, 자살, 감염병 5개 분야에서 모두 1등급으로 선정돼 안전한 생활환경을 구축하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

이번 평가로 도는 2015년부터 매년 공표된 ‘지역안전지수’에서 10년 연속 최다분야 1등급을 받아, 높은 안전수준과 안전 기반을 확보하고 있는 것으로 확인됐다.

다만, 범죄 분야는 아동안전지킴이집과 자율방범대원 수를 확대하는 등 민간 자원을 활용해 개선할 여지가 있다.

안치권 경기도 안전기획과장은 “경기도가 최다분야 1등급 평가를 받은 것은 안전관리 정책 강화와 안전의식 향상을 위해 관계자 모두가 함께 적극적으로 참여한 결과”라며 “범죄 분야 지표 개선을 위해 관계기관과 민간의 많은 관심과 협조를 부탁한다”고 말했다.

행정안전부에서 매년 공표하는 ‘지역안전지수’는 6개(교통사고·화재·범죄·생활안전·자살·감염병)분야 통계를 활용해 자치단체별 안전수준을 계량화한 후 1∼5등급으로 나눈다. 1등급일수록 동일 단위 행정구역 내에서 상대적으로 안전하다는 뜻을 의미한다.
