[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이귀선기자] 시흥시 웨이브파크 광장에서 1차 예선전을 마친 ‘WSL 국제서핑대회’ 개막식이 저녁 6시부터 진행됐다.

17일 개회 선언으로 화려한 축제의 서막이 열리고, 참가 선수들을 격려하는 자리가 마련됐다. 시흥시는 대회장을 찾은 관람객이 서핑 축제를 만끽할 수 있도록 곳곳에 체험 부스와 다양한 부대행사로 즐거움을 선사했다.

WSL 행사장 포토존에서 인증사진을 촬영하는 포토존 이벤트부터 대회 유치를 기념하는 시민음악회까지, 즐거움이 가득한 거북섬은 추위와 맞 물려서인지 한산한 분위기다.

시민음악회는 시흥시립합창단, 시흥시립소년소녀합창단을 비롯해 가수 바다, 원슈타인, 송민경에 이어 트로트 가수 이찬원의 신나는 공연으로 시민과 방문객들의 흥을 돋았다.

이날 초대가수 중 이찬원 가수의 팬층들은 버스 3여대를 나눠타고 행사장을 찾았다. 갑자기 추워진 날씨 탓인지 주최측 발표 관람객 '인산인해'라는 표현은 좀 어울리지 않는 듯 보였다. 이찬원 가수의 분홍색옷을 갖춘 팬은 확연히 눈에 뛰면서도 일반관람객의 모습을 찾기란 쉽지 않아 보였다.
