[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이귀선기자] 시흥시(시장 임병택)가 광주광역시 서구청(청장 김이강)과 함께 지역 상생 및 시민 편익 증진을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다.

13일 시청 다슬방에서 열린 이번 협약식에는 임병택 시흥시장과 김이강 광주 서구청장을 비롯한 관계 공무원이 참석했다.

두 도시는 이번 협약을 통해 상호 존중과 신뢰 기반의 협력관계를 공고히 하고 ▲행정 우수사례 벤치마킹 및 정보 공유 ▲시ㆍ구 간 교류 활성화를 통한 행정서비스 질 향상 ▲시대에 부응하는 공동 관심사 정책에 대한 적극적인 협력 및 지원을 약속했다.

임병택 시흥시장은 “이번 업무협약이 두 도시 간의 새로운 정책 설계와 성공적인 교류를 위한 소중한 밑거름이 됐으면 한다”라며 “실무중심의 정기적인 교류를 통해 실질적인 정책 교류를 추진해 나가겠다”라고 말했다.

김이강 서구청장은 “두 도시가 활발히 교류하고 협력하면서 서로의 장점을 배우고 발전을 도모하는 소중한 인연이 되길 기대한다”라고 말했다.

한편, 협약식 이후 광주광역시 서구는 해양레저 클러스터가 조성 중인 시흥시 거북섬 일원을 방문해 시흥시 해양레저관광 정책의 전반을 살펴봤다. 또, 문화예술, 평생교육의 중심지인 시흥ABC행복학습타운에서 K-교육도시 시흥의 대표 정책인 ‘시흥교육캠퍼스 쏙(SSOC)’과 마을교육자치회 등에 대해서도 청취했다.
