25일 시의회에 따르면 화성시청 대강당에서 열린, 이날 출범식에는 화성시의회 김경희 의장, 조오순 경제환경위원장, 위영란, 장철규, 배정수, 송선영, 전성균, 명미정 의원을 비롯한 정명근 화성시장, 상인회 대표 등 관계자 200여 명이함께 했다고 밝혔다.

김경희 의장은 축사를 통해 “매일매일을 생업에 종사하시는 상인 여러분들의 목소리를 직접 낼 수 있는 오늘의 출범식이 뜻깊다.”라며, “코로나가 끝난 지금, 여전히 어려운 경기 속에서 대한민국 경제 부흥을 이끄는 연합회의 모습을 기대하겠다.”라고 전했다.

한편, 화성시 상인연합회는 화성시 자영업자와 소상공인의 권익 보호 및 정부 지원 혜택을 효과적으로 지원 받고, 소외 계층의 어려움을 대변하기 위해 전통시장 상인회, 상점가 상인회 등 총 1,133명의 회원이 모여 출범했다.
