안산시, 아랍에미리트 ECO사와 업무협약…“기업 중동진출 협력”

이민근 시장, 전국대도시시장협의회와 UAE 방문 중 별도의 일정 추진해 협약 체결

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=안산 이귀선기자] 안산시(시장 이민근)는 해외 투자유치 및 관내기업의 중동진출을 도모하기 위해 엘리트 로드 서플라이 컴퍼니 (이하 ECO사)와 업무협약을 체결했다고 21일 밝혔다.

안산시에 따르면 앞서 전국대도시시장협의회와 UAE 방문단을 꾸린 이 시장은 별도의 현지 일정을 추진해 이번 협약 체결을 이루어냈다.

지난 19일(현지시간) 아부다비 현지에서 진행된 이번 업무협약식에는 이민근 시장, ECO사의 대표인 오사마 알-라우이(Mr. Osama Al-Rawi) 및 기업 관계자 등이 다수 참석했다.

ECO사는 아랍에미리트 아부다비에 본사를 두고 있는 국제기업으로 교량, 터널, 도로 안전 등 건설 분야에 걸쳐 사업을 영위하고 있는 해외 투자기업이다.

이 시장은 대한민국 최대 규모의 국가산단을 보유한 산업도시이자, 최고 수준의 신재생에너지 정책을 펼치고 있는 시의 청사진을 공유했다. 이어 활발한 교류 관계를 토대로 관내 기업의 중동진출을 위해 긴밀히 협력하기로 했다.

이와 함께 양측은 경제자유구역 지정 후보지인 안산사이언스밸리(ASV) 내 외국인 투자 촉진 등을 위해서도 교류를 확대하기로 했다.

앞으로 시는 ECO사의 투자 및 ECO사를 통한 관내 기업 해외 진출 지원 등을 위해 지속적인 교류를 이어갈 방침이다.

이민근 시장은 “안산시는 경제자유구역을 선도할 글로벌 기업을 유치하고 있다”며 “ECO사가 관내 기업체의 중동진출을 위한 교류사업 확대뿐만 아니라 투자사업도 적극 협력해 달라”고 말했다.

이에 오사마 알-라우이 대표는 “안산시의 적극적인 사업 추진과 환대에 감사드린다”며 “향후 안산시에 방문해 교류하고 협력 방안을 추진해 나갈 것”이라고 화답했다.
