중소기업벤처부는 지역 제조기업의 수요를 반영해 데이터 수집과 활용, 인공지능 서비스 등을 지원하기 위해 ‘지역특화 제조데이터 활성화 사업’을 신규로 추진하며 지난 3월 수행기관을 공모했다.

도는 제조기업의 디지털전환을 지원하고 있는 경기테크노파크와 제조 인공지능 원천기술을 보유한 한국전자기술연구원, 데이터 기반 분석솔루션 전문기업인 엠아이큐브솔루션과 함께 경기도 컨소시엄을 구성해 이번 공모에 참여했다.

경기도 컨소시엄은 반월·시화 등 거점산단 내 자동차 부품기업의 업종전환을 지원하기 위해 ‘미래차 XAI 플랫폼’과 이를 운영할 ‘경기 제조데이터(XAI)센터’를 구축할 계획이다. 또, 미래차 부품소재 기업의 데이터․인공지능 활용을 지원해 ‘경기도 인공지능 제조혁신’을 견인하겠다고 제안해 사업 수행지역에 선정됐다.

경기도는 1차년도인 올해는 현장 근로자가 이해 가능한 인공지능 기술을 적용한 ‘미래차 XAI 플랫폼’과 효과적인 인공지능 데이터 관리·활용 체계를 마련하는 등 인프라 구축을 추진한다. ‘설명가능 인공지능’이라 불리는 XAI(eXplainable Artificial Intelligence)는 과제에 대한 결론을 내린 인공지능이 의사결정 과정을 사람에게 설명할 수 있는 능력을 가지고 있다. 도는 다양한 제조현장의 분석 결과를 최적화해 작업자의 기술 수준이나 숙련도 한계를 극복하는 데 XAI를 활용할 예정이다.

2~3차년도에는 미래차 분야 데이터를 모아놓은 제조데이터셋과 가이드북 30종을 구축하고 60개 수요기업에 미래차 생산 공정별 인공지능 활용 컨설팅과 솔루션 도입을 실증할 계획이다.

3개년 사업을 통해 경기도는 제조데이터(XAI)센터를 중심으로 중소기업이 쉽게 접하고 활용할 수 있는 설명가능 인공지능 개념을 적용해 관련 기업들이 효과적으로 업종을 전환하고 기업의 경쟁력을 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다. 이번 공모사업자 선정으로 경기도 컨소시엄은 2024년 12월까지 3년간 총 120억 원(국비 60억 원, 지방비 60억 원)의 예산을 지원받을 수 있다.
